Spark.Web.Mvc5 1.8.1 missing from NuGet

While migrating a project from MVC3 to MVC5, we noticed that Spark.Web.Mvc5 version 1.8.1 appears to be missing from NuGet.
All other Spark packages are available at version 1.8.1, but this specific package is not, which blocks the migration.

The NuGet package files do exist in the repository, so it looks like it may have been missed during publishing:

Could you confirm whether this package was intentionally skipped, or if it can be published to NuGet? @RobertTheGrey

Interesting one!

The versions listed on nuget show that v1.8.1 was unlisted back in 2015 by Robert... and looking at this commit it looks the only change made back then was to use WebActivatorEx instead of the WebActivator package... (see )

Subsequently, we've simplified the codebase and no longer rely on SparkWebMvc.cs.pp files...

With that in mind, @vkvn may I suggest you try using the latest pre-release version (you might have to check a tickbox to show pre-release versions in visual studio if the nuget package manager)?

The latest version is a pre-release version and we cannot go to production with that.

Secondly, the current project is a legacy product which is using MVC3 and we wanted to move to MVC 5 first and then to AspNetCore. Hopefully by that time a stable version of Spark for AspNetCore will be available.

Isn't it easy to publish it to fill the missing piece. Just a thought.

It should be possible to install an unlisted version of a nuget package using the CLI: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/compatibility/sdk/8.0/unlisted-versions

Can you try it, and let us know if you have encounter any issues? If you don't, we could re-list v1.8.1 version again?

One of reasons those more recent versions for MVC 5 have only been pushed to nuget as pre-release is the we don't have production projects using the MVC 5 version anymore in the team.
If you want, try them and if it works for you in your dev environment we could push a new **not-pre-**release version?
