Official release repository for the Windows build of GamerPad.
This repository publishes the ready-to-run .exe releases of the GamerPad Windows server. It is intended for end users who want to install and run GamerPad without building the application from source.
GamerPad lets a compatible phone on your local network act as an Xbox 360 controller for your Windows PC. The Windows server displays a connection QR code, receives controller input from the mobile app, and exposes it to games through a virtual controller.
Use the Windows server together with the GamerPad mobile app:
- Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coreorbits.gamerpad
- iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gamerpad-phone-gamepad/id6751446324
Install the server on your PC, then connect from the GamerPad mobile app while both devices are on the same trusted local network.
Download the latest executable from the Releases page.
Release files use this name:
CoreOrbits-GamerPad-<version>-win-x64.exe
The executable is self-contained, so you do not need to install .NET separately.
- Download the latest
.exefrom the Releases page. - Move the downloaded file to a permanent location before opening it. GamerPad creates a desktop shortcut to that file.
- Open the executable and accept the End User License Agreement.
- Approve the administrator prompt if GamerPad needs to install the ViGEmBus virtual controller driver.
- If Windows Defender Firewall asks for permission, allow GamerPad on trusted private networks.
- Install GamerPad on your phone:
- Make sure the PC and phone are connected to the same trusted local network.
- Scan the QR code shown by the Windows server, or connect using the displayed address.
- Keep the server running while you use the phone as a controller.
GamerPad listens on TCP port 8080 and advertises itself on the local network. Do not run it on an untrusted or public network.
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- A 64-bit x86 PC
- A trusted local network shared by the PC and phone
- Administrator approval on first run if ViGEmBus is not already installed
If the phone cannot find or connect to the server:
- Confirm that the PC and phone are on the same Wi-Fi or local network.
- Make sure GamerPad is still running on the PC.
- Allow GamerPad through Windows Defender Firewall on private networks.
- Check that another application is not using TCP port
8080. - Restart the Windows server and mobile app, then scan the QR code again.
If installation, launch, or connection still fails, open an issue in this repository and include:
- Windows version
- GamerPad release version
- mobile platform (Android or iPhone)
- the visible error message or a screenshot
- whether the firewall or administrator prompt appeared
