numpy 2.0+ and new release

Hey folks,

I was wondering if a new release of the datascience library is planned that will support the latest version of NumPy.
If so, do you have an estimate for when that release might happen?

We currently have dozens of notebooks that rely on the datascience package, but we also need to move our environment forward to a newer version of NumPy.

I'm trying to plan for this upgrade to happen over the summer and would appreciate any information you can share.

I do not have any plans of working on this at the moment, but can commit to reviewing/merging changes if anyone else were to contribute.

In the meantime, the current datascience CI/CD workflows are broken and will require some work before we can test any new changes. I am hoping to get some work done on this prerequisite within the next few weeks, ideally.
