What is the current behaviour and why should it be changed?

Someone seems to have implemented a redirect from jamulus.io to jamulus.app (@gilgongo ? @softins ?). We should apply this throughout the whole software etc I think. This should be a simple search and replace task.

Yes, agreed, just hadn't got to it.

Explorer is now available independently on both jamulus.io and jamulus.app, and I will soon redirect the former URL to the latter.

Ok. Good to know. I didn't get any notification so we might need to check the bridge again. Nevertheless we might need to change a few more places such as SourceForge etc.

{records}.Jamulus.io should CNAME jamulus.app imo.

SF has a couple of links to that I've changed to jamulus.app (website and wiki). Otherwise, as far as I can tell the DNS is CNAME-ing all hosts from .io to .app. I need to make the MX records respond to mail to .app as well (need to sort out the DKIM record but otherwise should be easy).

Also, something needs doing with Google and the jamulus.app website. I think Google currently only has an owner for jamulus.io, and I received a notification the other day that pages were not indexed because they redirected away (I assume that's our recent redirect to jamulus.app, although it didn't say).

I'll have a look at setting up .app as a verified domain in the Search Console. There's also something about telling Google when you move so I'll look at that. EDIT: Done that (so I think Google will start collecting data on it as a separate "property" now). However, to tell Google it's moved we need to put a Cloudflare 301 redirect in for www. I'll see if I can do that.
