Cannot set/keep empty value for number column #2994

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a table and add a number column with default configuration
2. Create a row, in the modal just click save (leave the input field for the column value unchanged empty). The cell is empty.
3. Edit the row, in the modal just click save (leave the input field for the column value unchanged empty). The cell value unexpectedly shows "0.00" (zero)
4. Edit the cell, delete the value, press enter. The cell shows "0.00"

Expected behavior

Proper support for empty values. When leaving the value empty (unchanged) it should not be forced to "0" but remain unset. Deleting the value should make it unset. Also, prefixes and suffixes for empty values should not be shown.

Actual behavior

Values can only be empty upon initial creation or through import. Any change to a row turns an empty number value unexpectedly into a zero "0.00". Also, prefixes and suffixes for empty values are not hidden.
