Improve UI in search for adding a group member. #750

Description

Is your feature request related to a problem? Maybe it would be better as discussion? Please describe.
I'm a new user, testing spltpro as an alternative to splitwise. I hit a problem on startup that nearly made me walk away from the app.

The real problem was:

  • I could not share an expense with anyone because I could not find anyone
  • I could not find anyone because I had not shared an expense with anyone.

Specifically, I was trying to add people to a group. I was running a locally seeded
database but created my own fresh account, so my account had no history — which turns out to be the
important detail. There are two ways to find people and both failed for me.

Find by Name

Type a name and select from the filtered list of friends. This failed because the list was empty and there was no visual clue that there was a list. So I typed a name and nothing happened. I clicked "save" and the dialog went away. No person was added to the group.

Fix

When the list is empty, display "You have not shared expenses with anyone" in it's place. This indicates there could be a list and why people would be on the list.

Find by e-mail.

I alternately tried entering an e-mail. Once a valid email was in the dialog box, "Add to Split Pro" link became active. However I ignored this because the person was already in split pro. I
didn't want to add them to the app, just to the group.

Fix

Rename this button to "Add to Group", when adding to a group.

I assume a similar problem with adding to an expense and propose a similar fix.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Leaving the behaviour as-is and documenting it. Who reads documentation? Not I.
My AI minion does, but don't expect that every new user has a minion reading the
docs and code then explaining how the program works.

These actions should be self explanatory in the UI.
